comments, concerns, or just plain bitching

Ahoy from Far Out and Further,

From the Generation article entitled, “Better Grades Through Chemistry”: “For people who don’t need the drug for a medical reason, Adderall is said to be similar to taking speed.”

To be correct, Adderall IS speed, as it contains dextroamphetamine, the same as Dexedrine, which was once the major component of the diet pill Dexatrim, and the drug of choice of (London and other) Mods in the ‘60s. If you’re interested in the long-term side effects of Adderall use, meet a speed freak. Frantically enlightening.

Michael S Gallisdorfer

Dear Michael,

Thanks for your interest in the magazine. More examples of fun side effects is never a bad thing. Full speed ahead.

P.S. Kids, that comment was for laughing purposes only. Don’t take drugs now. You’re way too young to do stuff like that. They’re way more fun in college.
