your student voice

comments, concerns, or just plain bitching

Generation would like to invite the entire community to send us opinion pieces for publication. This is extended to students, faculty, staff, or really anyone who sees this box. Contributions should be a maximum of three double-spaced pages, and coherently related to some central issue. Entries should be labeled with the author’s name, title, daytime phone number, and the title of your work. You can drop them off at 315 Student Union, or email them to us at sbi-generation@buffalo.edu (emailed entries should have “opinion” somewhere in the title of the message). We reserve the right to edit all submissions for content and length.

Dear loyal Generation reader,

How are you? Classes going okay? Hope you don’t have too much work yet. The weather is still really nice so take some time to enjoy going out while it’s still warm.

How am I? Oh, that doesn’t matter, but thanks for asking. Hey, want to help us here at Generation out a little? Write us some letters. We like to know how you feel about the magazine, whether it’s good or bad. Really.

Have some suggestions for new content? Not happy with something we did? Have a comment about an article? Let us know. We’re here for you, and we’re good listeners.

This space is for you, and there’s a lot more of it here than in the personals. So send us some submissions and we’ll most likely make your voice heard. Even if that voice calls us something mean.

Thanks,

Tara Sullivan
Editor in Chief

Hey, You.

How’s it going? Just kidding, I really don’t care. That question is what we in the biz call “rhetorical.” It means I’m being an asshole but sly about it. Just wanted to let you know that you’re the reason my ass is glued to a chair on a Saturday night...in the Student Union. But hey, we all have to pay the mortgage.

I didn’t do much this summer, thanks for asking though. Unless of course you consider pushing carts, rocking out, and buying smoking paraphernalia “much.” In that case, I had quite a few epic journeys.

In all seriousness kids, we need letters. Although that would require you maybe to read the features section. You know, the one that’s usually 15 pages before the personals.

Feel free to send your comments in to sbi-generation@buffalo.edu or swing by the website: generation.buffalo.edu. If you add that period to the end of the address, you’re an idiot.

Peace,
Jeff Froustet
Supervising Editor
