Dear Generation,
I'm sorry. You have no idea the guilt I felt when I saw last week's letter to the editor page. I had planned on writing you guys, but this semester has just been too busy. You know, homework and studying and stuff like that. But I found some time, so, in the words of Kel, “Awwww, here it goes!”
I just wanted to tell you guys that I look forward to every Tuesday when I can pick up a new issue; one of my favorite aspects is the magazine's ability to cover in depth stories, whether that is about current events and controversies on campus or collagen injections into the G Spot. I was hoping that you might beable to focus some more in depth stories on local restaurants and businesses in the area. I am a lifelong Buffalonian; I love this city, and there are so many local hotspots that new students may not even know about - Hell, I'm still discovering them. The way I see it, college students need to support the small businesses in the area, and Generation can occasionally be a vehicle for this by writing about cool places for them to frequent. For example, Record Theatre across from South Campus is amazing. More UB students need to know about it and go there, God knows that the forty year old soccer mom is not going to go there to pick up a CD; she's going to go to Wal-Mart. The same goes for the local cafes and coffeehouses on Elmwood, and the shops on Hertel. We need to support these places so that Buffalo has its own unique identity or culture; I would hate to see this city filled with only chain restaurants and big box stores. Hopefully, you guys can help the UB community to discover how sweet Buffalo actually is through some articles. Also, do you know any cute brown haired girls that want to go on an ice skating date? Let me know...
Looking forward to the next issue,
Brad Loliger

Dear Generation,
This Monday I was sitting in my World Civ. recitation in Clemens and as I was staring out the window I noticed the roof of the Student Union. The sun was shining brightly upon it and at first glance I thought that there were solar panels up there. I realized that there aren't, but it got me thinking. The roof of the Union and a majority of the buildings at UB seem to be perfect locations for the placement of solar panels. Now, I'll admit to being ignorant to just about all of the plans for UB 2020 but if solar panels on the buildings at UB is not one of the proposed changes, I would like to propose it. I know there are many logistical challenges to this idea such as funding and finding companies to install them and set up the systems and so on. But I would like to just put this out there. I don't know if John B. Simpson reads Generation, but John if you're reading this, think about the solar panels. They are a great idea for improving the environmental-friendliness of the UB campus and maybe saving some money. Like I said, I don't know if the solar panels are a possibility, but I think it's something worth looking into.

Hi, Generation -
Please tell Michelle Matthews thanks for the nice article about Earth's Daughters.
Accurate and well-written, which is all one can ask. Enjoyable, too.
Congratulations on a fine job.
