The University at Buffalo’s Student Association (SA) elections were held this week. In an extremely close race between UB students Dave Grubler and Paul Verdolino, SA’s Elections and Credentials (E+C) Chair announced on the last night of voting that a winner would not be declared. A number of complaints had been filed against both candidates and the E+C staff wanted to address them before declaring a winner. The following Tuesday, Generation ran a cover with a giant detailed drawing of a fly on the cover with the caption, "Who Won? Bug SA." This same election also happened to be the most succesful that UB has ever seen. 4,313 undergrads voted in the election—25% of the undergraduate student body. While controversy was brewing on campus, the Main Street bar scen was raking in the dough. PJ Bottoms was advertising $.60 drafts, $.10 wings and $3.25 pitchers. They were also in the practice of showing movies there every Sunday night. PJ’s St. Patrick’s Day special included $.25 first beers, $.50 green beers and $.50 green shots
