U2 kicked some serious Grammy ass-deservedly, I might add. Bono was his usual graciously humble self during the awards, but I would not have given those little gold gramophones to anyone else (except Madonna, actually, for the same reasons). U2 have served their time at the commercial and critical bottom of the proverbial barrel, and this particular pair of ears is ecstatic to hear that they're back doing what they do best-rockin' out like four good Irish lads should. If U2's clean sweep is any indication of what might happen next year when their entire album is eligible for kudos ("Beautiful Day," being the first single, was the only song released in time for consideration), then we may very well be in for a repeat performance. Good beans.
