From the scene that brought you Negative FX and Blood for Blood comes Right Brigade. Grumpy old-schoolers will remember Right Brigade as a Bad Brains song, and they're right. Now it's also a band and an album title. Right Brigade's self-titled Revelation debut is straight-up hardcore like you remember it, with two guitars, lots of power chords, and enough frustration for a juvenile penitentiary. This is not emo-core, or metal-core, or any other hybrid that bands have been experimenting with these days. In that sense, Right Brigade is almost unique. Their sound is fast and energetic, and has lots of floorpunching breakdowns and finger-pointing anthems. Especially noteworthy is "Fuck the Kids," a thirty-second song about that handful of kids in every scene: "Your carbon-copied friends/ Ruining what I believe/ ...You're breaking what I am building/ ...You don't believe what this really means...." Know who I'm talking about? If so, you'll probably like this CD. Check it out.
