As you probably already know, SA elections were held this past week. This year marks change in the usual apathetic attitude held by students, as a record 2050 voters showed up a the booths. The winners, all members of The Results party--including the positions of NYSSA delegates-- won by staggering numbers. Naazli Ahmed, our new Treasurer won with the highest number of votes, 1,099 to Amanda McCormick's not surprisingly low 499. Naazli was most happy that her whole party received positions. Joshua Korman will be taking over as SA Vice President. Korman won with 945 votes to Rick Deren's 503, Kevin Christenson's 223 and Brian Reardon's 222. Korman feels that "after two years (his win is) validating" and he is happy the get started now that he is "not thinking about if's". Chris Oliver, our new SA President, won with 1,068 votes to Robinson Iglesias' 539 and Dan Wallace's 244. When asked his feelings about this, Oliver said he was, "a little surprised," he also stated that his first move as SA president would be to, "make some calls and let UB know there's a new SA President."
