Lori L. Badura, Ph.D., is the recommended teacher for Psychology 101. Professor Badura's class was everything that a course at this University should be. Although Psych 101 itself can be dry and boring, Professor Badura uses her massive amounts of knowledge combined with her wit and personal experiences to "spice up" the material. Her unique teaching style integrates her personal life into the lessons. In the middle of studying neurotransmitters and monoamines, Badura will tell a humorous story from her past, that serves two purposes: 1) to keep you interested in the lesson itself and 2) sticking a story in your head that relates to the material and helps you remember what was being studied. Badura's style makes every individual feel that she is speaking to him or her, even though she is instructing a lecture hall of over two hundred people.
Badura's style, however, is not the only reason to take this course with her. Professor Badura also has several policies that make her class preferred over others. She offers three tests, a midterm, second test, and a final and takes the best two grades to use as a final average. If an individual does well on the first two tests, he does not have to take the final at all. If an individual misses a test, they just have to make sure they make the other two.
Another advantage to taking Badura's class is she never takes attendance in lecture. Although going to the lectures is recommended for the best possible grade, if one can not attend lectures for any particular reason, it does not affect an "attendance grade" because there is not one for this course. Badura also posts every lecture's notes on her website. Therefore, if you do miss a lecture, you can just print the notes off the internet.
Finally, Badura writes the text that she requires for her students. Therefore, the text assignments are easy to read and as amusing as her lectures, and it includes exercises at the end of each chapter, which help pound the material into your head. If each exercise is completed and submitted at the time of the final, Badura gives extra credit points to be added on to your final average.
What determines tomorrow's future is the way today's students are taught. Lori Badura is a teacher that stands out above all others. She cares about her students and teaches them in a unique and effective way, taking her course a must
